VIP San Francisco is a chapter in San Francisco Bay Area of International VIP Club which has 201 chapters around the world including 151 in Japan.
The name VIP comes from the book of Isaiah (43:4) in the Bible, which states that you are Very Important Person in God’s eyes.
It has nothing to do with the word ‘VIP’ often used to indicate high positions in the society such as senior executives in corporate world.
The group started as a study group among business persons and professionals such as doctors, engineers, lawyers, professors and researchers. We welcome spouses to participate as well based on the thinking that they are good partners/advisers to the other half.
We meet once every one to two months. Meetings are conducted, in principle, in Japanese language but we sometime have speakers who deliver speech in English. They take place somewhere between San Francisco and Silicon Valley either at a hotel conference room, a restaurant, a member’s house or on a Stanford University campus depending on the subject.
There is no participation fee but when we meet at a restaurant, participants are expected to pay their own food.
There is also no membership fee nor contributions required.
The organizers are mostly Christians but non-Christian participants should feel comfortable as we do not offer any religious solicitation. Participants are mixture of Christians, people of other religious faith and non-religious people.
Please note that we are not at all related to Unification Church, Jehovah’s Witnesses and Mormonism.

VIPとは聖書のイザヤ書に、神の目にあなたは高価で尊い｛Very Important Person in God's eyes} からきています。
よく使われているような重役とかexecutiveという意味のＶＩＰではありませんので社会的地位は関係ありません。
当会はビジネスパーソンとプロフェッショナルの方たち（医師、技術者、弁護士、大学教授、研究者、其の他の専門知識を有する職業）の勉強会として始まりました。伴侶は「良き相談相手」というコンセプトに基づき、ご夫婦同伴の参加も歓迎しております。
基本的に集会は約１ー２ヶ月に一度の頻度で、日本語で行われますが、ときに英語でゲストスピーカに講演していただくこともあります。開場はサンフランシスコとシリコンバレーの中間ほどのところにあるホテルの会議室、メンバーの自宅またはオフィス、内容によってはスタンフォード大学で行われることもあります。
参加費は無料ですが、レストランなどで集まる時にはお食事代は実費となります。
献金、メンバー費などは一切ありません。
オーガナイザーは基本的にクリスチャンですが、宗教の勧誘などはいたしませんので安心してご参加ください。
通常の参加者の方々はクリスチャンの方、他宗教の方、あるいは無宗教の方などがほどよくミックスしています。
また当会は、統一教会、エホバの証人（ものみの塔）、モルモン教とは一切関係ありません。
